Lost Sakura by Mariye (lostsaku.lzh)
Hm: The set has a very nice, detailed story, which I enjoyed. And the story really sounded like it was well-thought out. The clothes are rather unique in design, and pretty well drawn. The pose for the base doll is very interesting, as well, and gives her sort of a flirty look, which goes well with the character from what I read. The little brick wall below her is interesting, but I thought that the hair options being put ONTO the wall as graffiti would be nicer looking. The little mini-doll sitting on the wall looks so sad and lonesome...even though the rest of the background is mostly the transparent colour, it still goes very well with the background peices provided, and looks as if it's one whole image. But there's also some stray pixels on some of the items, and as I've stated before, that's a pet peeve for me. But I really like this doll, it has alot of character.
Vote: Yes
Rick: I've always appreciated the creative touches that Mariye puts into her dolls- but once again, the art falls a bit flat. I found the lack of shading and the thick lines to be a bit off-putting- I would really be interested in seeing what Mariye's work would be like with a bit more detail and attention put into the art. The backstory of the character is great, and the interface with the brick wall, along with the doll to change hairstyles on the smaller base, really fit the 'feel' of the doll. I really did enjoy this doll, however, the lack of shading put me off a bit.
Vote: Maybe
