The new reviewers are Hm and Rick Cramer, your friendly (or, not-so-friendly in Rick's case) neighborhood KiSS artists and critics. If you have any questions, comments, etc, feel free to leave it in the journal or email Hm. Now a word from the original reviewer and founder of this journal!:
howdy! my name is tea; i'm using this journal to do KiSS reviews. please feel free to comment as much as you wish.
i'm posting a few rules here for clarification.
first:
a word of warning-- not ALL the reviews are positive. these reviews are there to answer the question "why did someone vote that way for that doll," so if one of us voted no and you are curious as to why, you can use this as a resource. we try to point out the good things even about sets we vote no on, and the bad things about sets we vote yes on. however, if you are very sensitive about your work and seeing criticism will make you unhappy, then this is not the place for you, we won't just pat you on the back and say "good job." but we will tell you honestly what we thought and what our initial reaction to your set was.
second,
please write serious critical thought. while i would prefer people choose to comment based on sets that make good reviews rather than to comment based on sets they like, you are obviously free to comment as you wish. however, the following is not appropriate:
1) flames of any kind
2) uncritical comments, such as "this set is awesome" or "this set sucks" without an explanation.
3) uncritical responses to comments, such as, "i don't care if you don't like it." you *shouldn't* care if we don't like something you've done; we HOPE that you have enough self-worth to know that someone disliking a drawing you made on your computer isn't worth your emotional health. what we are hoping to do is look at each set and quantify what we liked and what we didn't in a way that you can understand it and think about which parts of it you might want to think about in your next set-- for example, if someone says "i disliked this effect and that organization style," you can look at your next doll and use that criticism, say, "maybe i'll try organizing this one differently, but i still like that effect so i'll keep it."
thirdly, SIGN YOUR NAME! if you are not an LJ user, LJ will post you as "anonymous" but you can still sign your name in the text field of your post. this way people know who they are talking to and can address particular concerns. if you want to be a critic, you have to be willing to take criticism, just as artists do.
note: if you object to any review or comment made here, or would like your sets not to be reviewed at all, please email me privately. however,i will not remove any review unless it is patently offensive, nor will i prevent other people from posting reviews on any given doll. Hm: I will remove a review if you have a good reason to why you want it gone, but I won't take it down just because you don't like negative feedback. this is a public forum and as long as people use it properly, i can't censor others-- it wouldn't be right.
another note: i removed all friends from this journal. you can put it on your friends list, but this is not my personal journal and i feel that listing friends would be like playing favorites. i want this journal to be open to everyone and for everyone. if you would like to be on my friends list for my personal journal, try zia_narratora -- that's my new personal journal.
tea
Hm's notes:I go by the same rules Tea did, if you have any objections email me privately, and we'll talk about it.
